Expungement Intake Clinics

How it Works

PLSE does not take appointments or walk-ins for expungement services. We accept new clients at expungement intake clinics. At the clinic, a PLSE staff member does a presentation on how to clear a criminal record, followed by every attendee discussing with a volunteer one-on-one their specific circumstances. We currently hold clinics in three different locations, they are all listed below with the upcoming clinic dates. Other important information:

  • All of our clinics and services are free if you meet our income guidelines
  • You do not need to register in advance
  • All you need to bring is a valid photo ID and a little patience
  • PLSE is only able to help with adult expungement cases in Philadelphia

1) People’s Emergency Center
3939 Warren St., Philadelphia, PA 19104

Next clinic: Saturday, November 16, 12pm-2pm

PLSE returns to its longest-running clinic location! In collaboration with People’s Emergency Center and Penn Law, PLSE is offering a know-your-rights training on criminal records, pardon information sessions, and one-on-one intakes for expungement with volunteer law students. You do NOT need to register in advance. All you need to bring is a valid photo ID.

2) Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships
3509 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia, PA 19104

Next clinic: Friday, November 15, 2pm-4pm
Following dates: listed below

Join PLSE at one of their oldest clinics in collaboration with Drexel’s Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships. Participants will have the opportunity to sit down with a volunteer law student from Drexel University’s Law School who will review their criminal record and discuss options for clearing it. You do NOT need to register in advance. All you need to bring is a valid photo ID.

PLSE Workshops – coming soon!

Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity (PLSE) will be holding introductory pardon workshops to provide information on Pennsylvania’s pardon process. Participants will be introduced to the pardon application and given an overview of the full process. We will review eligibility and criteria for a strong application along with tips on how to navigate each step.

If a pardon is not right for you at this time, we will also review other methods of clearing your criminal record and provide tips on how to move forward with your life in the meantime. Participants will also learn about creation, dissemination and destruction of criminal records in general and their rights when it comes to the use of their criminal records. There will be time for a Q&A at the end. Due to limited space, we have capped event registration at 40 participants.
