Thanks to a grant from the Thomas Skelton Harrison Foundation, PLSE is working with the Department of Criminology and Justice Studies and the ExCITe Center of Drexel University to create a mobile-friendly web-based computer application that will guide people who are not currently in prison through the process of completing an Application for Clemency, which can then be printed and mailed to the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons.
The prototype PardonMe™ app is expected to be ready for testing by early 2020. It will be coupled with videos on this website in which successful pardon applicants explain different parts of the process and offer ideas about what might help to make your pardon application persuasive.
PLSE is also working with the Board of Pardons to make sure that the PardonMe™ app will be able to connect with the Board’s online application system when that becomes operational (anticipated by the end of 2020).
PLSE thanks the Thomas Skelton Harrison Foundation, the Board of Pardons, and Drexel University for their contributions to this project.
